Panda Base tickets can sell out in summer. Book ahead.
Crowds
Arrive at the panda base at 7:30 AM opening during Golden Week.

International cards less accepted than Beijing or Shanghai.

English less common. A translation app with camera is helpful.
Weather
The basin traps humidity. Spring and autumn offer clearest days.

Don't assume all food is unbearably spicy — order mild (wei la or bu la).
